An extended version of the iconic Rim-to-Rim experience allowing additional time to explore the North Kaibab corridor and inner canyon at a more immersive pace.

Offered seasonally between November and March. Approximate mileage: 45–50 miles. Route: South Kaibab Trail → Bright Angel Campground → Cottonwood Campground → Cottonwood Campground → Bright Angel Campground → Havasupai Gardens → Bright Angel Trail Exit.

Itinerary

  1. South Kaibab Descent to Bright Angel Campground Guests meet at the Grand Canyon Backcountry Information Center at 7:00 AM before boarding the Grand Canyon Express Shuttle to the South Kaibab Trailhead. The route descends dramatically toward the Colorado River before reaching Bright Angel Campground.
  2. North Kaibab Corridor to Cottonwood Campground The trail follows Bright Angel Creek northward through the lush North Kaibab corridor toward Cottonwood Campground.
  3. Exploration Day from Cottonwood Campground Guests spend the day exploring farther north toward Ribbon Falls, Manzanita, or the Supai Tunnel region depending on conditions.
  4. Return to Bright Angel Campground The route gradually descends back through the North Kaibab corridor toward Bright Angel Campground.
  5. Climb to Havasupai Gardens The group begins ascending the Bright Angel Trail toward Havasupai Gardens for the final night in the canyon.
  6. Exit via Bright Angel Trail The final ascent climbs steadily toward the South Rim along the historic Bright Angel Trail.
